i dont know how to use DxDiag
I'm having the same problem, and have tried all previous fixes mentioned in this thread with no success. When I start ME2, it gets to the "press any key" screen, freezes, the screen slowly flashes a couple of different colors, and then I get a BSOD with the error messages "VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE" and "atikmpag.sys". My system is as follows:
CPU: Intel i5 6500 3.2GHz, stock clock
Motherboard: ASRock Z170 Pro4S
RAM: Avexir 16GB DDR4
GPU: AMD RX480 8GB x2, Crossfire disabled for ME2
GPU Driver: AMD Crimson 17.3.3
Storage: 256GB SSD boot drive, 1TB SSD game storage drive with Origin & Steam libraries
Monitor: AOC AG271QX
I've played ME2 through Steam for years with no problems, but downloaded it via Origin so that I could play the DLC and transfer characters more easily. I've done a clean install of my GPU drivers, repaired, updated, and deleted/reinstalled the game, and changed the .exe names in the Binaries folder, but the furthest I've been able to get is the intro cutscene before the game freezes and BSODs on me.
yh i am having the same problem my sprcs are:
CPU : Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz, 3301 Mhz, 6 Core(s)
GPU : ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 STRIX
Memory : 16GB RAM
Motherbord : ASUS x99 deluxe
Ok, this is a simpler explanation how to do a DxDiag.
- Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
- Copy and past or type "DxDiag" in the new field. (Without the quotes) > ENTER
- wait until the green bar is gone > Click on "Save all information"
- Save the file to your desktop.
- Here at AHQ > click on "Reply" > click on "choose file" > navigate to the "DxDiag.txt" on your desktop. > select the "DxDiag.txt" > click on "Open"
- Type a few words in the text box > click on "Submit"
Please also provide a DxDiag.
here you go thank you
There are a few Windows Update errors in your DxDiag. Make sure that Windows is full updated.
Make sure Origin is closed.
Go to your "Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 2" folder and move the "Save" folder to your Desktop. > test.
i tried and it still hasnt worked
Ok, then also move the "BIOGame" folder from the same location and test again.
dont worry i gave up and just bought it on steam last time i use origin thanks for all the help tho
