Greetings. Windows 10 x64 user here, i wanna finish all Mass Effect parts before Andromeda comes out, so i started Mass Effect 1 and it worked without any problems, but Mass Effect 2 won't listen. Whenever i start game, it wont lunch,only process that i get in task manager is 'ActivationUI' that lasts for 1 second and then nothing. Origin client status is showing that im ingame but im not, tried all solutions that i came across on internet but none of em helped, renamed files, origin in-game and cloud saves turned off, imported my older saves, started via ME2Game.exe , compatibility mode (windows 7 and 8) , reinsalled game couple times, repaired it, but still same results. I've contacted support via facebook and they told me to post here my dxDiag so people with HERO rank can check my specs and give me some advices. N7 Army i call for your help! 🙂

1) Don't see the DiaX file they asked for... 2) Make sure you are running both Origin and ME2 as administrator, and if change compatibility do it for both. 3) Given the history of EA and antivirus, you may try disabling(temporarily) your antivirus program and any firewall you have, to see if they are interfering. (if it does, you could put exceptions in for Origin and ME2) 4) Make sure you internet is up and going when you are trying to play. 5) See if having origin offline makes any difference. 6) If ME2 has a save folder created, move all saves and files out of it. 7) Make sure all overlays are off, origin in game, (Geforce and AMD) video card experience programs, Fraps, afterburner are all examples. 8)Let me know and think about it some more....

@PeXo0oN Yes I understand that you tried a lot of things, that's why we need a base (repaired game) that is unchanged so we both know what was changed and what not. Also, disable the compatibility mode for Origin but don't disable the Administrator mode. Let the "Save" folder be empty as well. Use this guide to allow the "ActivationUI.exe" (under ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries\Core" to communicate through the Windows firewall. Now clean your Origin cache. All settings in Origin (only in Origin not in the games) are back to default settings after this.) - close Origin completely. (right click on the Origin symbol in the task bar > close) - Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. - Type or copy "%ProgramData%/Origin" (without quotes) > hit ENTER - Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for the "LocalContent" folder. (The "LocalContent" folder must remain untouched.) - Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. - Type or copy "%AppData%" (without quotes) > hit ENTER - Now your Windows explorer should have brought you to your "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Roaming" folder - Delate the "Origin" folder inside the "Roaming" folder - In the address bar of your Windows explorer click on the word "AppData". - Open the "Local" folder - Delate the "Origin" folder inside the "Local" folder - Restart your PC. > test If that don't works, press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. - Typ "regedit" (without quotes) into the opening folder > ENTER - navigate to this key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BioWare\mass effect 2" and post a screenshot.

You said you reinstalled ME2 several times, did you tried to install it to your C drive?

I could swear i attached txt file with dxDiag but nvm now, sorry for late answer i was at work. @mcsupersport 2.I've done that. 3.That too, firewall is off and i use Bitdefender 2017 Total Security , turned if off for couple minutes , still nothing. 4.Internet was up when i tried everything. 5.Tried that too. 6.Tried with and without saves, either deleted folder that origin created (Bioware folder in My Documents) 7.Origin in-game is off and i don't have other programs that could cause problems. @FluidPanNerd Yes i have. Have you tried an Update Game? (you can find this in the same spot as the repair option)

PhysicX install, for ME2 issue video

I know the above was an issue, I think I had it back many years ago. Something to try IF you haven't already.

Please go to your ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries" folder and look if the "EACore.dll" and the "EACoreServer.exe"are present.

Did you disabled cloud saves before you moved the Save Games?

@mcsupersport Nope, tried that, i had latest nvidia PhysicX on my PC, deleted it and installed that old version that comes with game. Still Nothing.

@holger1405 There's no such thing like EACoreServer and EACore.dll (posted 2 pictures for you , binaries folder and core folder inside of binaries)

@FluidPanNerd Nope, too much stuff installed, that will take me alot to install again if i reinstall windows.

A clean boot is not reinstalling windows. It just boots up your computer with bare bones software. It only lasts one boot up, and you can still start apps.

Thanks for the screenshots, I see you already renamed the Exe files.

But again, did you disabled cloud saves before you moved the save files?

Please go to your Reliability monitor (Press the windows key and "R" at the same time and copy or type "perfmon /rel" (without the quotes) in > ENTER and look if it has ME2 entries.

If yes double click at the last one, copy it to the clipboard, (Bottom left corner) save it to a text file and load it up like the DxDiag.

Sorry, clean boot used to be called SAFE MODE, i thought you meant for clean windows install. 🙂 I tried that , same *.

Yes i disabled cloud saves, turned off origin too before i moved other saves.
