Mass Effect 3, DLC not authorized.

I am having an issue with Mass Effect 3. When I load the game and get to the main menu, I get that dreaded error that tells me that my DLC is not authorized. I have pinpointed when this issue occurs.

I use a 4G modem for my internet. When I am on this connection ME3 does not allow my DLC to activate.

When I use an internet connection via a wireless network I have no issues.

How can I get my DLC to authorize regardless of my connection? This is really bothering me.

  • I am having this same problem, but 4g is my only connection option so I'm out of luck.

Using a 4g modem is the only I option I have for internet access living out here, unless I want to use satellite internet (latency too high to play MMO's) or 56k(well yeah... that won't work either). And I'm guessing those options would have trouble authenticating to your servers as well, anyway.

I used to be able to login okay by disconnecting my Verizon access manager and reconnecting. If I authenticated within a few minutes after connecting my USB modem I was fine. That is no longer working. The game keeps trying to authenticate my dlc before it even finishes connecting to the EA servers (so of course it can't authenticate). After I get the error, the game connects to the EA servers just fine but it's too late. It won't let me re-authenticate the DLC.

This is so upsetting. I just purchased Leviathan, Omega and CItadel and I'm not able to experience the content because of this ridiculous DRM check for the DLC.

Please give us a way to get around this. I have been a loyal customer of Bioware for years and I've invested a lot of money your games. Surely there must be a way for a legitimate customer who has just unloaded another chunk of money for DLC to actually play it. The DLC is supposed to require an internet connection. I HAVE an internet connection. A fast one. I can stream HD video via HBO, YouTube and other online applications with no stutter. I can make short work of large MMO patches. I can play competitively in PvP in every online game I play. There is no reason I shouldn't be able to authenticate to your servers and play your DLC with no problem whatsoever, even if I'm not using Cable or DSL.

I really want a response to this ASAP. Please.

  • So, I am still having the same issue as before. I still cannot play ME3 via a 4G modem. This is very frustrating. I want to use this connection. Help please!

Grandmoffvixen, you need to contact EA Support directly as no one here is able to resolve this issue. I know that this site says you (all of us really) will be getting help from Experts by coming here. The reality is that we are all just gamers with similar or varied issues, that may or may not be resolved by a fellow gamer who might be viewing/ visiting this site, and not by an EA Game Advisor or Tech Specialist. Sorry.
