Mass Effect 3 How to launch a probe

Please Help. I ame playing single player / role play game and i am unable to launch a probe - Does anyone know how to launch a probe while scanning.  Pressing the left mouse button does not seem to ...

    Are you scanning correctly? You can't send probes to any area on the planet, as you could in ME2.

    This is the Xbox 360 version, but on PC, sending a probe is done by left clicking.
