Mass Effect Andromeda Deluxe Edition not Connecting In-Game

Hi there!

I had to update the EA app today. After updating the EA App Mass Effect Andromeda does not connect to the multiplayer servers at all. I've tried and retried, rebooted, checked network settings that have worked for *years* and changed the DNS settings to the public Google ones (8.8.8.8 primary and 8.8.8.4 secondary) even though I never needed to do so before, rebooted the router despite it never being an issue since release, I'm currently attempting a repair. I do not use proxy settings and I do not use a VPN while running games and Windows Firewall has had exceptions for years, and none of that changed in the last few days - I just checked. Still won't connect to multiplayer servers.

In addition this EA app update broke my Mass Effect 3 (2012) license, but I was able to use the old "rename the license folder" trick to force it to work again.

Both games were working fine just a few days ago and *nothing* changed on my end, except updating the EA App.

This site and the EA App accept my credentials. I've got over 1000 hours on Mass Effect 3 and over 600 hours on Mass Effect Andromeda. I've been playing these multiplayer games on and off since demo of ME 3 in 2012 and I'd like some help getting this working again please.

Obviously, the EA App update broke my stuff that was just working, so what should I do now to get MEA multiplayer working? My EA app account handle is hanskey. The error is the normal "Network Connection Error" we always got when EA's server were down and not responding, which happened a fair amount right after launch.

In fact, I only got this error when the EA MEA multiplayer servers were down in all the time I've owned and played MEA.

Again, EA app I can log into fine, just the MEA multiplayer servers are all I can't connect to.

Are they being serviced or offline?

PC, Windows 10

Need anything else @EA_Shepard?

Edit - Repairing the install did nothing.

  • @hanskey I logged into the EA app and launched both ME3 and MEA. I was able to go into the game and MP sections and make a purchase. Had no issues with either. As of this morning, are you getting errors in either game?

    @hanskey I logged into the EA app and launched both ME3 and MEA. I was able to go into the game and MP sections and make a purchase. Had no issues with either. As of this morning, are you getting errors in either game?

    I haven't tried MEA multiplayer yet today, and I got no other error messages of any kind. 

    I even installed MEA on a machine it was never installed on and had the same issue. Just the big standard "Network Connection Error." I'm in the central US, and Google Fiber is my ISP.

    I'll give it another try shortly and report back!

  • Still really sucked that the EA App update broke my ME3 license, but luckily, I just renamed the licence folder and it worked again.
