mass effect: andromeda won't launch

I did a clean install of windows and that was the only solution that worked for me. Game worked fine after that.

 THANK YOU. I've seen this before in other software, what gave it away?

ok this solution has worked for me. i disabled cloud sync. then i deleted save folder for the game and started the game. it worked nicely. i guess patched games no longer work with previous save files. lost my character but that's ok, since i wanted to start again. hope his might help.

it worked for me. start the game with origin in offline mode. u can go online later.

Removed the 2 exe files from the game directory and rebooted the PC after that repaired or downloaded the game and its working again

If you're just getting a black screen at launch?  Sometimes with sound and sometimes with a flashing pointer, but usually just a black screen and nothing else?

Try hitting the windows key and see if it comes up in a window.

I've been having a similar issue since upgrading to windows 10.

I'm not sure what's causing it.   When I fired up task manager, it likewise didn't seem to show MEA at least not among the active tasks.   I did find it when I scrolled down and looked at the "background processes"

I'm not really sure why windows 10 is doing it, but under windows 8.1 I had no problems. 

Under Win10, the game won't run full screen, and just fires up as an idle background task when it's run in full screen mode.  

If I hit the windows key, it starts running normally in a window.  If I set the game to run in windowed mode, it'll run fine when I relaunch it.  If I try to run it full screen, it screws up again.

I'm going to try reinstalling DirectX and see if that does anything.

I had exactly the same issue. I switched off the windows defender and the firewall, but no luck. I tried to run in administrator mode and windows 7 compatibility mode, obviously no luck 🙂.

Finally i add manually the  ActivationUI.exe file to the windows firewall allowed on both type of network, and it's magically was working fine.

I hope it will solve your problem.  

I just bought this game and I have the same issues. I've tired all of your fixes and nothing works so right now i have $90 desktop icon. cheers
