Do you have any other peripherals plugged in aside from your mouse and keyboard?
And just to check, though you mentioned you're using the controller wired, do you have Bluetooth enabled on your PC? If so, disabling it temporarily would be worth checking.
It may also be worth a quick check of the EA app rather than Origin to see if that's any different. That should pick up your game library automatically when you sign in with the same EA Account and just let you test this without jumping through too many other hoops.
If it's not working there either, it may be worth a clean boot of your system to make sure that's not having troubles due to another program or process.
I got a webcam and a pair of headphones that I got plugged in, but aside from that and the mouse and keyboard, no other peripherals. But they've never interfered with anything in the past. I'll try the bluetooth thing. I don't have any bluetooth devices hooked up to my computer at the moment anyway, but I did notice that it is turned on.
