It's a popular request, no way of knowing. maybe never.
Perhaps the ease of people on PC and Xbox through backward compatibility accessing the games might reduce BioWare's interest in doing this work.

They don't want to license third party engines now.You may have a point but at the same time these are games that are already made by them using a license. If they had to pay again for basically old engines I can't see that being too expensive and bottom line is that if there was enough money in it, EA would have no problem doing it.
Whether they feel they can make enough money on it, I think, is the real question here. Perhaps Beamdog?
