ME1 (2007) Won't Run -- Win11

Does anyone have any confirmed solutions to get ME1 (2007) to actually run on Windows 11?

It had no issues running on literally any OS earlier than 11 (10, 8, 7, & Vista, iirc) but no matter what compatibility setting I put it in, whether it runs as admin or not (and even if it's already set to run as admin, EAPlay app keeps telling me it needs more permissions? Like how the *?) but now it just will not run, period.

Before people come in saying things I've already read (and believe me, I've already looked at similar topics, tried those fixes, and they didn't work or I didn't understand how to implement them.)

To start, ME is installed on a separate drive, not the C: drive.
ME2 & 3 both run purrfectly fine, thankfully.

ME will pull up the little square screen that happens before it opens the main game, then just autocloses & pulls up the EAPlay app again.

So again: Any confirmed solutions?

There is an Access Violation error for Mass Effect reported in the DxDiag. Unfortunately that can have many reasons.

Make sure the "MassEffect.exe" is set to run under "Windows XP (Service pack 3)" compatibility mode and also check "Run this Program as an Administrator".

    Restart the PC > Test.

    If that don't helps:

    • Make sure EA app is closed.
    • Go to your "Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect" folder and move the "Save" folder and the "Config" folder to your desktop. > Test.

    If that also don't helps:

Preform a clean boot and test the Game in clean boot mode.

Make sure your virus scanner and other security software and also Afterburner and similar software is disabled.

Make also sure that your GPU & CPU are not overclocked.

Runs out of the box for me.

Is this drive a external or internal drive?

Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

It's on a secondary drive, cuz the C: drive is too full atm (working on removing them.)

Though this secondary drive is an internal, can't remember if it's SSD or HD, though.

But yea, I've uninstalled/reinstalled, tried multiple other fixes I've read, and nothing.
It just doesn't wanna properly launch.

The second option was what fixed it.
    Thank you so much!

Edit: Okay so it runs, but after about 5ish minutes, it stops responding.
What can I do to fix this?

    Edit 2: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-Mass-Effect-Games/Mass-Effect-2007-freezes-now-that-EA-App-has-replaced-Origin/m-p/12431804/highlight/false#M72567
this post helped resolve the issue w/ crashing!

Edit 3: Do you have any tips for getting the cursor to lock to Mass Effect? I can't seem to figure it out; and running in full screen mode doesn't do it.

Then ist is probably not enabled.

Close all background programs > Test.
