ME3 failed face import xbox 360

I just bought ME3 today, having played both the previous titles i imported my original Shepard from ME2, after downloading the latest patch and installing the game I discover that the face the game tells me is my original is just some preset one. What the h*ll happened to be frank? I was told this was fixed and nowhere on the internet can I find a solution that doesn't involve having to import my xbox file onto a PC and downloading some dodgy program to find my original face-code, or worse creating the entire thing from scratch. Please, please please help me fix this, I want my Shepard! BTW I created my Shepherd in ME1 and then imported him to ME2 and everything else seems to have imported fine only the face doesn't work.
