@IIIPripyaTIII wrote:If you have enough map knowledge and know how to manoeuvre from cover to cover and save the consumables for round 6, gold should be doable with a bronze gun and a level 11 char where the bottom two skills are filled for my experience. People who just blatantly vote to kick are really biased imo.
The thing is there is no communication why someone shouldn't be in the gold lobby, no explanations etc.
Therfore no tutoring. No learning. Just irritation...
As said I have 60h in MP alone and never ever heard someone uses voice chat ... and there is no chat tool or quick chat tools.
I understand that chat feature is a danger since gamers tend to act extremly uneducated in online games, but anyway no way of tutoring what is requiered for gold lobby.
And regarding using consumables ... for an old ME:3 multiplayer veteran like me, I am under the impression esp. Cobra missiles are rarely used and hardly when it would be necessary.
And many players simply bleed out instead of reviving themselves.
Maybe players don't understand / know about them?
Maybe some misinterpreted gamer 'honor' that using such things is noooobish or so?
Or maybe players enter gold matches without sufficient consumables ... would like to see the how many my teammates own now that I am thinking of it.
That's why I start my public matches solo. Don't want to play with me? Then you know where the "door" is. I'm not leaving and you can only kick me in-game.
I rarely use consumables as well if I play public. However, there are people (for me it's a waste) who find it faster to just use their cobras. I use it only when someone is about to be sync killed.

I have the human kinectic character + several rare weapons, I also have the P.A.W but frankly with my character and its special ability my dmg is mostly in my ability to stay in cover and chain cast powers for combo effects.
Besides I dislike the P.A.W compared to my carnifex pistol which deals a pretty mean amount of damage for a pistol ! Add disruptor dmg and its pretty nasty. Headshots ftw. I never let it run out of ammo so even tho I have a low assault rifle equipped I never use it. Just gotta know the maps and how to skirt past the ammo boxes on the way past.

I do think a Carnifex X (much like a Disciple X) is still a potent weapon in gold matches.
And I am pretty sure no-one who adds boosts (and has gear euqipped) with such a weapon should be kicked out of the lobby.
But I understand that characters that don't meet a reasonable threshold of weapon/equipment, boosts or level are not liked in gold lobby.
As I pointed out above in another post, how should they ever learn / know about it? The tooltip is misleading, just being level 18 is not sufficient.
Other factors are as important. Not that players who exceed every reasonable threshold are good team players btw ... without voice chat coordinated team play is more a game of chance.

I'm Apex 800, infiltrator level 15, and I manage to do gold. My score at the end of the match isn't too far off from the high level Apex guys.
From my experience, it depends purely on what weapon you use and how skilled you are at staying alive that dictates if you are capable of doing silver/gold. You need to get lucky with the loot crates and get a high DPS weapon, this is very important. But you also need a bit of experience so that you know how/where to move to stay alive - you basically need to know how the maps work. The second part, skill, is easy to get, you just play for a bit. The first part, getting a good gun, is solely decided by chance and is therefore harder to acquire.

I'm one who is really against kicking anyone. For me the minimum of 300 APEX is fine. Level 1 and like 10 APEX is questionable but it depends on the rest of the team. If it's all level 1 and low APEX - which doesn't usually happen anymore at this stage - then I'm going to leave. Kicking someone for using underpowered guns or low level chars is kind of a douchebag thing to do. All I care about is that the team fully extract for the extra creds and at wave 7 it's therefore handy to keep at least one revive kit.

When you join a game and can't do anything because enemies wont die/teleport/shoot thru walls and you rubberband like hell, the host really, truly needs a kick.. :D don´t host games with a 56kbps. Also "VOIP disabled" from online-> voip activation and you don´t hear anyone not depending on their mic settings?

@SalarianLawrence That's one reason to kick, but by that time I have left the game already. Notice it in the 1st round? Bye match.
I'm not going to wait for people to kick the host and on a loading screen for host migration.

Yeah i tend to stick around and wait for the match to fail to try to kick the host for education, for wasting my precious consumables :d
I assume the host also suffers from such lag-problems when i do in such a game? Or are they unnaffected? Never had anything but fps lag when selfhosted tho...atleast to not such extremes that you just simply can´t do anything in the match.
ps. and my internet ain´t exactly top of the line...like 20mbs DL tops / 6 UL tops

I was about to post that. For the love of god, please do not host if your internet isn't amazing! It pisses me off so much when I join a game and it turns out it's a total lagfest. I'm mostly pissed at the developers for hiding the ping, with their "out of sigh, out of mind" mentality.

Ok, just tried turning voice chat in settings back on and yes, next game someone has an open mic 🙂
Which means, if you turn off voice chat in your settings it turns off all voice chat communication (from teammates to you).
Will utilise now mute feature after pressing esc in-game.

Indeed, there is no display ping option. Not even by console command? Does anybody know?
And while we are at it: if you become host by migration, please check and change the mission's settings!
I don't need to play the same map vs the same enemies over and over.
So I usually drop into another lobby.

This is what I had and got booted from the lobby. I have the biotic gear on my character + the carnifex. The only thing I could guess at was they booted me because my apex rating is only 2k. I have no way of knowing because despite having mics none of them spoke. - 9 years ago
Sometimes you can be booted simply because some group wants to play with their friend that just joined their discord channel. It's not necessarily personal. The polite way for that to happen is for the host to disband the lobby and start a new one, but sometimes they just boot the one non-friend. Just move on and don't worry about it, unless you are doing something that is regularly getting you booted.
