Multiplayer issues

I've had some issues with multiplayer the past couple days. Not sure if it's on my end or not. I would join a game, and whenever I run by an ammo box, it would automatically pick up extra thermal clips. I stand next to it for 20 seconds, and nothing happens. Similar issues, where I would hit a husk with a heavy melee ability and it wouldn't do anything for 15 seconds. Normally if there was lag, it would maybe be a 5 second delay before the husk gets hit and dies, but 15 seconds? Husk is still alive. Sounds a bit fishy.

I was thinking it might be a hacked server, but playing multiplayer since release and this sort of thing popped up this week a few times (didn't happen before), then maybe it's not that way.

  • Definitely not a hacked server, because the mutliplayer is peer-to-peer. The effect of this is that the host of the game can cheat by altering his config files. Maybe your config file has been affected by playing with cheaters, in which case you might want to repair the installation, assuming you're on PC.

  • So by playing with someone that has a modified config file won't get me banned or anything will it? Perhaps I should set my Coalesced.bin file to read only so that way people can't mod my files.
