Multiplayer levelling bug - PC

Not sure if anybody else has come across this.

Something happened this afternoon while playing my Geth Engineer. After a Silver match, he should have progressed from level 14 to level 15 or 16. I saw him move up on the tally screen. After that I proceeded to the lobby but exited it because I was planning to afk for a while. When, before doing that, however, I manually entered the character screen to quickly allocate the new talent points, I found the Engineer back at level 14 and also the Credits were reversed to the amount before the match.

Other things, however, like the packs/missile launchers I had used were gone and also the assault rifle points I had collected were still there.

I shrugged it off and came back after a while to play a bronze match. Same thing again. On the tally screen right after the match, he was 16  or 17 (sorry, forgot) but when I exited the lobby to sort out talents, he was back to 14 and no extra credits (again) but all mats that were used were gone.

It's been about two hours since then and I was logged out for that time but there's still no change.

Can somebody please look into that because I'm not keen on having that character remain on that level and chew up credits for mods and supplies without earning some to make up for that. Thanks.

  • I've had that happen to me before on my PC: at the very point that you're exiting the lobby, your link to the EA Server hasn't completed the update so it "forgets" that your character leveled up, etc.

After games where I've suffered from severe lag issues, I've seen it happen with my characters. My solution was to stay in the game meeting room for at least a minute and then quit back to the lobby to allow enough time for the EA Server to do its job and remember my new data.

Its far from perfect, but it's the only solution I've got. And as this is a public help forum, if it still persists then you can bring it directly to the attention of the EA Support Assistants by the EA Help Center if you like: they might be able to give another suggestion to the cause if it isn't a poor uplink.

    Thanks, Desertrunner.

I've tried that a few times but it only works if the leader isn't quitting the group. If that happens, you get transferred without a choice to opt out and then I'm back to square one.

Might try EA Support directly though last time I had to wait nearly 2 weeks before I heard from them. I don't think it's the uplink because all my other games work just fine.
