Hey @EA_Shepard, not to make you walk in circles with this issue but I am also facing the same "Online Pass is required" error. This started after I updated the EA App on Windows 10. They previous manual steps do not work, unfortunately.
I opened a case and had several chats with EA Help, some have recommended the steps below. One chat said they gave me the proper permissions that I did not have beforehand. They said I cannot be transferred to a specialist. The advice below seems extreme and I'm feeling so lost.
Is there another way forward? I appreciate any help you can give!
Advice given:
"- Install CCleaner: https://www.ccleaner.com/ see last section of https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/pc-graphics-troubleshooting/#stilltrouble
- Use the "Tools" tab in CCleaner to uninstall the game and EA App and/or Steam
- Use the "Custom Clean" tab to clean all temp files
- Use the "Registry" tab to Scan for Issues then clean/repair registry
- install Visual C++: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
- install .NET Framework: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework
- Clean Boot PC: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
- check and install latest Windows and video driver updates
- reinstall EA App and/or Steam and game"
Info you have asked for in the past:
- EA App/Steam/Epic: EA App
- EA ID/Steam/Epic user ID: rococozy
- Windows OS: Windows 10
- Windows OS version: Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045
- GPU model and driver version: Name NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
- Region: United States
- Are you using an internal or external drive? Internal
- Are you using an HDD or SSD? HDD (I have also used a SSD)
- Date this issue started (is it still happening?): It started today, after updating the EA App
- Any other errors? Not anymore, though I have had issues with DLC Authorization before. It took two years to fix (and not sure how).
Edit: I attempted the CCleaner Registry clean-up recommended in another thread. Sadly, this didn't work.
