PC Controller Issues

Xbox Series X controller works in the game launcher but does not work when playing mass effect. The game seems to get really confused between the mouse and the controller.

Xbox One controller also works in the game launcher but does not respond at all when playing mass effect.

I'm not sure if this is also an issue with mass effect 2 and 3.

@DeanHunter17 Does this change if you connect the controller once you're in ME1 versus the launcher window?
  • I am having the same problem with the xbox one controller. able to move around in the game main menu but when game open up, the controller do nothing?

  • I had my Xbox Controller drop out around 13 hours in when playing through Steam.

I managed to fix it. Right-click on the game in the Steam list and select Properties>Controller and Enable Steam Input.

You know it's working because it has a controller config pop up in the bottom right when you launch the game.

Still...not sure why it should be necessary to have to overwrite, as the game should have controller support as a default.

  • No problem here with the XBox One controller.  I play with it plugged in, rather than wireless, so that might be a difference.  Works fine in LEME1 and LEME2.  I haven't tried 3 yet.

  • Thank you for the quick response

I've not tried. I'll try tomorrow and get back to you

  • Disconnecting the controller (removing the battery) once you click ME1 in the launcher and then reconnecting the controller (insert the battery) once ME1 is on the start menu solves the problem

Thank you for the help with this issue

  • It does not change for me. It randomly worked once for me in ME1 but now it does not work at all after the launcher goes into the game.

  • Have you been able to fix your issue? I can not get my controller to work at all with the game. And I have tried all the Steam work arounds, contacted EA support too.

Honestly, IDK what else to try.

  • @Hurvi78 An Xbox controller chatpad with built-in 3.5mm jack
and adapter also works. You just got to plug in the USB Dongle into a port. It depends on you model of computer. Some have only two and some have up to 4 ports.
