[PC] Mass Effect 3 (2012) Crashing (Normandy Crew Deck)

Mass Effect 3 regularly hangs on the Normandy crew deck and I have to manually kill the program through the Task Manager. At this point, it's largely unplayable.

I have updated my graphics drivers, stopped my AV, run compatibility mode, and run as admin. It still crashes. Please help, I love this game.

    Do you use any Mods?

Try to repair the game. > Restart the PC > Test.

(Origin: Game Library > Right-click the game cover > Repair)
(EA app: My Collection > Click on the three dots on the game cover > Repair)
(Steam: Game Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

If that don't helps the "AppHangB1" error is often driver related.

    • Follow this manual to the letter to cleanly uninstall all NVIDIA components.
    • Install the graphics driver and GFE. > Go online.
    • Makes sure other drivers (Sound/Network) are also up to date.)
    • Test.

  • @holger1405 I do run mods, yes, but even using a vanilla backup copy that I told Origin to repair, it did the same thing.

However! You're my favourite person today! The DDU seems to have fixed it! I ran around on the crew deck for a while and no hanging!

May you get all of the nice things you wish for. <3

(Also, the link in in the blog post re: DDU instructions, going to the nvidia drivers leads to a page entirely in German, just so you're aware!)
