From what I have been able to see through googling around previously when the bug originally happened to me, and double checking right now as well, this bug has been around since pretty much day one of the game launching back in 2017, so well befor the game was available on steam to buy (which happened in 2020). So I do not think Steam it's self, and playing it through Steam, is the problem here, it more seems to be something in the original coding of some section of the game that is causing this.
But, as you said, there can still be problems that are caused by playing the game on another platform, this particular one just does not seem to be one of them.
In any case, I do want to thank you for all the work you have been doing here with this. Especially since Andromeda is a game which probably no longer has a dedicated group of developers who constantly work on it like it had in the first X number of years. So it can't be easy to get the gears rolling on getting solutions and updates/bugfixes for a game which is at this stage in it's "life". So no matter if something happens from this or not, I do appreciate the work you are doing @EA_Shepard. 🙂
Community Manager@RhodrynCallahorn So because it is through Steam and not the EA app, the data to manually resolve it is limited so Steam in itself is the problem from a solutions standpoint. As we don't control Steam, any workarounds the team said, for the moment, are the only steps anyone can take until they get that part figured out first. Even they said it isn't ideal but they have to be able to change any backend data connected through Steam like this as no data showed up with the EA app on the account. Honestly not sure if or when that will happen. It is on my list and I am watching for updates but as of this morning, they had not updated on this issue specifically.
@EA_ShepardStill non coclusive answer? It is right now 2024.07. and same problem occurred. Maybe game needs some fix with backend, bacause I have other problems with counting points ?
Community Manager@II_Maciuk Hey, so i haven seen anything on this one for a while. I will follow up on it but just to let you know that at the moment, with DA on the horizon, most "non-critical" updates have been pushed to the back burner. Sadly that is out of our hands. I will update the ticket on it and see what I can find out. As of now, missing skill points isn't a critical issue as no one being able to get online at all would be more of a critical issue. I will let you know as soon I get word on it though.
