PLOT | Next game, what will that be?

Just to see what you people are expecting in a next game, if one is ever done.

I think MEA is a sort of a stand alone project. Making grounds (probably making experiments as it goes) and room for another saga, not sure if expecting another trilogy or another game, which would close the Andromeda plot. DCLs would take care of some minor issues, probably, perhaps only giving clues of the Quarian Ark (not really saving it) ... I think that's as far as I expect any DLCs for now. Nothing else stands in my point of view that would justify showing right now without being something importantly involved in a following game.

My guess is that the plot would return 10 years from the ending we have there, both Ryders somehow respected, but also forgotten. A smarter SAM, probably knowing more jokes by now, a seasoned Vetra, Cora and Liam, perhaps these three still around you. Drack probably might have been less active, Peebee might have gone travelling. It would open a situation with more possible squad mates, perhaps a couple of our former crew mates might not return to our services (please, make it Liam gets paraplegic or something).

And what then? Given you did your (and everyone else's) job as a Pathfinder, you found paths and planets and Meridian, and everyone is happy, living, not starving. What are you now? Nobody. You are a nobody. Of course, the kett retreated, but they are surely returning. Something will prompt us into action. Probably, a sign of the jardaan will come from Aya or Meridian itself, because ... we still don't know if the jardaan is truly friendly.

So, there are questions. What do you think will be our job in the next game? What do you imagine we'll be fighting for? Do you think we'll have another trilogy? Or just a second closing game? Or two other games? Or just a bunch of DLCs and Expansions to finish the tale? What are your takes on the next steps?

  • I'd like to stick with Ryder as well.

    1. Ryder could transition from Pathfinder to a defensive/offensive stat (maybe military of some sort) in Andromeda, now that worlds have been established.

    2. Kett. They are here to collect genetic material, numbers, improve their race. For what purpose? Time to find out what they are up to, since their interest in Rem-tech, or conquering is not their purpose here.

    3. Kett could probably know about the Reapers or be at war with them, in their Kett system, reason for wanting to be a superior race. Reapers existed in the galaxy looooong before anything. "They are more than we could comprehend"..so...possibly they must know about the Kett. 50.000 years is plenty of time to explore other systems than the Milky Way.

    4. Reapers could be easily be behind the Scourge. They probably wanted to prevent more systems from development, because too many systems to harvest. LOL Sooo, they came, saw the terraformers/life creators, they stopped them before remnants had a "mission accomplished" in the system, and then the Reapers left. They never came back since they knew they interrupted the "Creation" in Andromeda.

    5. Geth. If they had an "Ark" (which they don't need to travel, except for a good ship) and if some left Milky Way, they could be already settled on any planet in Andromeda. They don't need terraforming, and they can stay hidden and build up their world. As Ryder explores further, he could simply bump into Geth on one of the planets.

    - if Geth left during ME2, they would probably be hostile with the Initiative if they were discovered around Andromeda

    - if Geth left after settling terms with Shepard (ME3), etc. then they could probably have some information about the Scourge/Reapers, since they interacted and have been upgraded with the Reaper code. They could know something we don't.

    - also Geth could be useful against Kett. Maybe machines cannot be exalted in case we go to war with the Kett. A good advantage.

    - Geth could also be able to provide answers to whats going on or what happened in Milky Way.

    - Geth would be more capable to interact with Remnant machines, and learn more about them, maybe even learn how to create life and then we could exploit that. (but that would probably be like clone wars LOL)

    6. Settled planets to be developed. Established councils (on Meridian), really cool trade hubs, mercenaries, information traders, smugglers, all that stuff for extra content, action, tension.

    7. Maybe try to establish long range communication with Milky Way. Let them know (if possible or if they still exist) of our success, situation, struggles or even encourage them to migrate to Andromeda. Let Milky Way know about Rem-tech, their "creation" capabilities. But that could be risky, since Reapers could intercept communications. idk..debatable.

All in all, i really hope for a trilogy. I'm not saying No to DLC/ expansions as long as they have independent story missions, but clearly a NO to DLC that concludes game stories in pieces released at certain time intervals.

Bioware says it won't be a trilogy, so I'm hoping for at least 5 games in the series.:eahigh_file:

I support your idea 100%. I don't think this game should be left to die, instead make it shine.

You start out as a gender fluid 20 something. One of the first children born in Andromeda. Identified by the oppressive MALE gender at birth you fought against that terminology since you were just a them. The main antagonist will be society, and changing societies view of you.

They keep calling you "him" "he" a..... "MAN", but deep down you know, and have known, all along that you are a THEY. You identify as the gender of beaver one day, alligator the next. The Initiative refuses to acknowledge who and WHAT you are, so you must bide your time and fight through the perils the game will put you through. Like which bathroom to use, adjusting your universal translator to block out archaic gender pronouns minigame, fighting against the tyranny of what clothes to wear, filled with action packed combat like: "#NOT MY INITIATIVE" signs and blocking elevators. It will be the game of the year when it comes out, breaking records in sales.

There could be some fun DLCs where people you are politically opposed to get invited to speak and you riot to block them in the name of "free speech"

Ahhh... Culture. Sometimes you just have to make fun of it. 😉
