Yes, I would of liked more hidden surprises. I enjoy wandering especially if it means more xp or found information. It would also have been nice to ask people who are just trying to survive to come back from being exiled.
Yes if it is done properly, however looking at the current state of MEA, think it's just too much for them to handle. It's clearly quantity at the sacrifice of quality, making their open world filled with crappy fetch quest. I enjoyed playing me2/me3's short 30-40hr game play more than 100hrs of this.
So Yes to a properly done open world, but No if they cant manage. I would rather play a good ME4(as in a continuation of the ME3 style) than MEA.
- 9 years agoI like open worlds, but I hear enemy scaling becomes a pain as you hit lvl 100

This would be nice, but it would also be nice if the worlds somehow reflected your work and increased

The enemy never stop scaling up.
So at level 100,you are fighting level 100 enemies as a level 80.

I would miss the open world aspect of ME:A most with the Nomad. I like the open areas with bounding and running over odd bits of fauna and enemies. They had a pretty good balance of openness and channeling with the first mission - but didn't have to incorporate the Nomad The forward stations minimize the retreading the same old ground - but don't eliminate it.
Maybe if the maps were designed more with a central fairly open area and missions were more in geographical coves and alleyways off the central open world? The map would probably look silly from an aerial perspective but it wouldn't look bad from first person perspective.
