Pre-Origin ME2 DLC & Origin

I'm restarting my playthrough of the ME trilogy; my ME1 and ME2 content is prior to the use of Origin.  I have a fair amount of DLC for ME2, and I'm curious, once I install ME2 via Origin, if it's automatically going to recognize that the DLC is attached to my account, or if I'm going to have to go through special methods to install that DLC without having to pay for it again.

In short, will I be able to directly download my DLC through the Origin client, or am I going to have to get in touch with EA Customer Support (who did an awesome job, by the way, of attaching my very old 2008 ME1 key to my current Origin account so I have a digital download; my optical drive is giving me issues) and have them do something so that it recognizes I have rights for that content?

  • I have pre-Origin ME2; you'll need to retrieve your DLCs form Bioware Social Network:

    1) Log-in.
    2) Mouse over "My Games" on the menu under your avatar.
    3) Select "Your registered game content" from the list.
    4) Locate the ME2 DLCs on the list and select "Download".
    5) Once downloaded just double-click the file and it will automatically begin downloading the DLC to your game.

Once those are downloaded, if I start the game from within Origin, everything should line up fine, there should be no issues with saving to the cloud, etc.?

I've registered my ME2 (which has all the ME2 DLCs installed) on Origin and started it from Origin without any issues; I haven't used Origin's cloud storage with ME2 though, so I don't know off-hand if it's available.

Many thanks; I'm trying to be preemptive; I'm just now on Virmire in ME1, and I just want to make sure when I do my ME2 install, that I won't encounter any issues installing my DLC so I can have a "smooth" playthrough; if I hit issues, I'll hit up EA Customer Support.  Your help has been much appreciated.
