"press start" VERSUS "press any key to start"
hey guys at the start screen for mass effect on pc with the new patch updated, it says "press start" on my start screen instead of "press any key to start" and no key i press on my keyboard will act...

bumping this thread as everything I have tried up until not is not working.
-Combed the config files and moved around/deleted recommended things. Did not work
-Windowed mode was suggested (though, I believe that was to fix the no boot of the game scenario but tried it anyways) - Did not work
-Cussed at the screen - did not work.
I have tried an Origin file of this game and a separate stand-alone install of this game... No dice. This game is not moving past the "Press Start" phase.
What has worked to solve this??
So the game stops at this screen? And there is only "press start" on the screen, not "Press Any Key"?
Did you tried to repair the game? (in Origin > Game Library > right click ME1 > Repair)
That is one thing I have not tried yet as I just installed the game. I will give that a try in a couple days when I get back to my PC. Thanks for the direction, regardless.
So I just let Origin repair the game and tried again. Same results. Same start up screen with "Press Start" and nothing works to get past this screen on the keyboard.
