Thanks for clarifying that question, although I'm still wondering about the ME2 import, because the PS3 port doesn't have the option, although considering it's meant to be played as such I think they'll patch it in.
Someone from BioWare mentioned a while ago that they will patch ME2 to allow save imports.

no more fear just download the patch 1.04 on the mass effect 2 and you're shepard from the mass effect is good to go.
and i'm happy to say that ps3 version of mass effect have been improved.
