@Pezter  Have you tried using Origin?  You can have Origin and the EA Desktop App installed on the same computer; you just can't run them at the same time.  (If Origin won't open, restart your computer, or else kill the EABackgroundService in the Task Manager.)  If you own the game outright, it should show in your Origin library too; the only reason you'd be forced to use the Desktop App is if you have EA Play through XBox GamePass.

If you do have GamePass, or Origin won't let you install the MELE either, what country are you in?  It's possible there's an issue with availability in your region.
