Did you install from disc? Did you install DirectX from the ME2 install location?

It may be worth trying to redeem the code in Origin and download/install that way.

I didn't install from disc as it was a digital copy I bought and I tried installing the DirectX from both online and from the ME2 install location to see if that would work but still just comes up with the error.
