Re: ME3: LE Dialogue wheel stuck

@geosyncline

Hey,

When you say "regardless of keyboard, mouse, or contoller input", do you mean that the controller is connected at the same time as your kb&m?

If so, I would try disconnecting the controller (and any other non-essential USB devices) before launching the game.

  • Thanks. I tried that and it didn't solve the issue.  This is behavior that is unique to this particular cut scene on this particular mission.  Things work normally, with controller, keyboard, and mouse plugged in, with the conversation/dialogue wheel elsewhere in the game immediately before starting this mission.

    Did you restarted the system after you unplugged the controller?

    Did you tried to use space-bar?

    Did you tried to repair the game?

    (Origin > Game Library > right click MELE > Repair)
    (Steam > Game Library > right click at MELE > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

    I've got a weird tip: try capping the FPS in the in-game settings to 60 before this mission. Sometimes uncapped FPS causes a lot of seemingly unrelated errors.

  • @felker_s Rats... tried that and it didn't work either. I may try unlocking the Unreal console to see if any error messages come up.

    Does the Legendary Edition still have "action mode" where they take away the dialog wheel and it makes choices automatically? If so, in the worst case scenario, you could activate that to get past this, then reactivate it after you regain control. I think they may have removed that option, though, because it was really unnecessary.

    It may also be worth trying to lower your resolution and/or playing in windowed mode. That sometimes works as a workaround when you have a user interface issue.

    That's a good shout! There is an option under Options/Gameplay which you can set to "no decisions". (Kinda weird that this exists for a game that depends on them, lol.)

    Also, I've worked my way around some UI issues in other games with the good ole' Alt+Enter in the past as well.
