I have the MSI Afterburner for Screens AND Videos!
I love it and it works for old Games AND for new games - great tool. And very, very simple: https://de.msi.com/page/afterburner

Just noticed that I already installed it just never used it :DI'm a software idiot and I was looking for a SIMPLE programm to take videos in ... hmm was Dragon Age 1 or something like this. A programm for free. I looked around and it was HORRIBLE! I found nothing good.
Finaly a friend told me about this programm for graphics .. hardware (whatever). And: I could take videos in Dragon Age 1 and Dragon Age 2 und EVEN in Dragon Age 3. In Mass Effect 1 to 3, too. And of course I could make Screenshots.
To be honest: Not the best quality of course, but it is ok. It works in a lot of games, like a little donkey. Here a little DA:I Video I have taken with this programm (lot of mods inside hehehe): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de91jO1Esfk (german).
You just have to say what Keys you want to use for Screenshots and Videos and than you can start. If it takes a video or a screen, you see a little purple circle on the left corner. Sometimes you have to minimalize the game and open the MSI Afterburner from the Taskbar till it works ....

I second this. Fraps stopped working for me but I tried MSI Afterburner and will never go back. Awesome and versatile tool.

Fraps free version ... I remember there was a problem "for me". I think (not sure) it was something like: You can not take really "longer" videos with "Free Fraps". And I don't wanted to chance always the programs when I make a Screen and when I make a video. 🙂
