Re: [Resolved] We Could Not Activate Mass Effect 3 2012 Edition Error

I bought ME3 through steam several years ago. It worked fine, with the occasional issue launching. Now, I reinstalled to play and it gives me an error and says my activation code is invalid.

"We could not activate mass effect 3 on this computer using the origin account you provided. Please locate your product key to activate the game using your origin account."

On the error screen, no matter what option I choose, it says I have no internet connection and I cannot proceed. This happens whether I launch through steam or EA, run as administrator, or not, launch directly from the exe file. . .

Any help much appreciated!

    Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that the team is aware of this now and looking into it. I'm glad to hear that it is now working for some of you. I understand it's been a bit frustrating for sure. I haven't seen this error in quite a while myself.

Welp. For different reasons, I was forced to reset my laptop and reinstall windows...

lo and behold, this very same error has reappeared. 🙃

Guess I'll try to re-do all the steps that eventually worked the first time and see what happens.

edit: I re-did all the steps, and thankfully, everything works again. Super annoying that the problem resurfaced at all, but glad that the solution still worked.
