No the main thing being gone over is the * poor system that was implemented for research. It's clunky and boring and the LITTLE amount of time I played made it very obvious that it wasn't a thought out concept. Scanning is boring, time consuming and over all NOT worth * in a game like this. I'd rather they had us cook meth.
Even I would prefer this lol
However it is also a bit on the side of being a transparency issue - and also a willful ignorance issue. They knew the exploit existed - presumably they knew why it was happening, yet they didn't go for the base problem - this is a very common tactic of sleazy developers like Zenimax - I really expected better from Bioware - they haven't done this to us before in previous games (transparency) - they even intentionally left exploits in DA:I - there was no way they didn't know about them - so why are they screwing with us now?
Don't they honestly have more important things to fix? I have quests sitting right now that won't update even though I did the task - you know, actual gameplay breaking experiences, and yet they're focusing on menial things like me getting 30 research points instead of 21 credits from trash loot boxes that give trash rewards anyway. The exploit was netting me like 300-500 research across all factions at max a day - it was hardly even an exploit - heck I was even converting gold rewards to get the research points - technically me 'exploiting' could have also been viewed as self impairment - I was giving up better rewards for lower ones.
Anyway, as I've said already in this thread - I'm done with this game until they fix it. I want to use other weapons - but at level 132, and having already beaten the game 4 times, and on Insanity 132, I don't want to play the game 2 times to get 3 of the 50+ weapons to level X (if you're lucky)(also applies to armors). Stupid and pointless - all this focus on opening up the Power System to be more inclusive of all playstyles - but completely gimp any aspect of tangible weapon diversity.
Anybody who thinks I'm lazy or whatever else like the one guy in this thread said are just being difficult for no reason other than to play devil's advocate - anybody with half a brain cell can see this was the most garbage way to implement weapon leveling. They had to make the scanner viable - so instead of doing like the other games where you buy upgrades, you have to research them, the problem is the economy is nowhere near like the old games - there simply isn't enough data out there - the Heleus cluster data is so low it doesn't even make any sense at all. Here we have the Remnant who's tech is mostly hidden in inaccessible vaults - yet somehow they have the single most abundant resource pool for research - which makes no sense, they should be the rarest. Then back to Heleus - it's the current rarest... like we're in the Heleus cluster... we should be collecting data for it left and right... they obviously didn't think this through at all - just a way to make that scanner "purposeful." This was their way of making a stupid feature relevant and I find it punishing more than anything, it makes me mad enough that I don't want to play - and I hope they see that. I'm the guy who supporting them the most up until now, defending all their negatives and bugs as "it will be fixed" - but now this -_-
