redeem product code remains loading

When trying to redeem a product code through my account page, it gets stuck on loading. This is because of an http request being done while initially loaded through https. This is a security conflict causing the 'Redeem Product Code' page to remain loading. Chrome developer -> Mixed Content: The page at 'https://myaccount.ea.com/cp-ui/redemption/index' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure resource 'http://checkout.origin.com/lb-ui/null'. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

I am trying to redeem a product code for Mass Effect 1 which I own on Steam. Using Origin on my PC worked for Mass Effect 2 which I own on Steam as well. I own Mass Effect 3 on Origin itself and wish to have them all available in one place (Origin). From what I gathered, Mass Effect 1 can only be redeemed through the browser to then be used within Origin. However, the above issue prevents me from doing so.
