I am talking here about a different game but sine I come up with the fresh install policy I didn't encounter any more "funny things" after game repair (integrity check)
Long story short, instead of game repair I always remove the game and install it from scratch.
NP, but I never had a problem with the repair options, neither in Steam nor in Origin, and it is the "less headache" option. 😉
Honestly, if it is still not working after making sure that nothing it blocking it, I would rather asume a hardware problem or that a configuration or save file got corrupted/wrongly edited.
- sweetpoison00114 years agoSeasoned Ace@holger1405 Ah, it makes sense... I forgot to mention that I have a nasty habit to alter the games (mods and custom config mostly), in fact I can't think to a single game which I play it as it is. I guess that's why repair doesn't work for me most of the time.
For an intact game I agree with you though, game repair/integrity check would do the trick.- Gan_Xodos4 years agoNew Adventurer
Well, I also have textures for smoke or dust not load on a rare occasion, like outside the Kett Stronghold on Eos during the mission or while landing down on foot in the final mission, I think.
This is definitely a corrupt or missing texture problem in that case. As for the face, I assume there was a bug in recreating the sibling's face based on the facial features I chose for my character. Some rare instance of the parameters chosen not leading to a successful sibling face generation. I don't see how it could be a hardware problem since it's very specific problems I have with just two sets of textures in the entire game.
I never modded or messed with configs. If any of you have the game installed, feel free to try the save game out that I linked and see for yourself. I think I saved it right as the messed up brother's face appears in the mission where you have to play as him.- holger14054 years agoHero+
OK, this is really something. 😂
Your safe file:
Once I reset the brother's appearance to standard Scott:
I never heard anything about such a problem but apparently you are right.
The engine can't render Scott if he is the customized version of your Ryder.
So as a workaround, if you plan on a second run, change the appearance of Scott at the Character Editor in the Sickbay of the Tempest to his standard appearance.
