SCOURGE | Weapon and a cure?
This may contain spoilers from the mission regarding Memories. If you haven't done these missions, avoiding reading the rest.
So I was remembering this and that dialogue. The first time we are sort of figuring out what the Scourge is, it's said it was what, a sort of exotic harnessed dark energy? This clicked, in mind, with the fact Ryder's mother got sick by constant exposition with eezo, harnessing element zero in her researching. The whole Scourge idea is yet a mystery. What are the odds that the Scourge could actually counter-attack and become a way to cure their mother? SAM can manipulate, now, Remnants which gives him the power to prod and prompt the Scourge, perhaps even shape it. If the Scourge proves itself able to actually kill or nullify the effects eezo causes on lifeforms, do you think that the game is leading you to find a cure through Scourge manipulation? Probably as a mean to make you choose between something important and your mother's life?
Of course, the whole idea can also be ludicrous. This is a what if question only.
