[Steam] Mass Effect 1 will not launch

I recently have been trying to replay the Mass Effect Legendary Edition and was going to start a new ME1 playthrough, however when I go to open ME1 from the MELE Launcher, it goes to the splash screen, gives me a loading circle on my cursor, then immediately kicks me back to the MELE launcher. I bought the game through Steam and did upgrade my computer since playing it the last time, but both ME2 and ME3 launch and work fine. I've tried just about everything I can find online to try to fix it with no luck, including opening in a clean boot, reverifying files, reinstalling the game, attempting to launch from the EA App, clearing caches, disabling bluetooth, updating literally every driver I can find, and even editing the global language setting.

I'm currently running on Windows 11 with an X670 Aorus Elite AX, AMD Ryzen 9 7900x 12-core, and an RTX 4070 Ti, which are all upgraded from my previous computer which launched the game fine. It also is odd that it's just ME1 that's giving me problems, and really annoying that a game that came out just a few years ago is throwing such a fit. Any advice is greatly appreciated. I just wanted to replay the game for some more achievements and now I can't (and of course most of them are for ME1). ☹️

    • Make sure Origin or Steam are closed.
    • Go to your "Documents\Bioware\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\" folder and move the "ME1" folder to your desktop. > Test.

  • Hi,

I pretty much gave up trying to get the game to work, hence the 3 week delay. Game still doesn't launch as of today, everything is updated. I've attached the DxDiag. Thanks for any assistance!
