Time and time again people keep asking this question, but you already know the answer.It's whatever you chose.Because that was the whole point. You got to choose what happened throughout three games. Asking for a canonical ending completely ruins the point of giving players the choice, even choosing between paragon and renegade. It's like reading a choose your own adventure book, then asking the author for a sequel that gave the definitive adventure. Well what was the point in reading in the first place?What is to gain with canonical ending? Nothing. Even if they did have one more players would be upset than not. People really need to let this go already. As you as you dont let go of the milky way, andromeda cant succeed. The first is proof of that.

They dont need to address it because its not a shadow that looms over it. You're in andromeda the milky way trilogy is over. As long as people keep going on about the milky way any subsequent games will fail. Mass Effect Andromeda 2: WTF is Going on in the Milky Way? is not a good game. People seriously need to let it go, or MEA2 will be killed by the same vitriol bs "this isnt ME4!" that killed MEA.

Even if "some" people knew what was going on, do you remember the condition of the main planets Milky Way?? Do you remember the destruction on EVERY main planet?? Even on the best Synthesis ending, you still had YEARS of reconstruction to even hope to be back to pre-Reaper level of life, AND you assume that those people even survived the war. You add in the knowledge that they are on a one way trip, no communication with them, and no response for likely 600 years and most people left behind would have moved on. IF the leaders were concerned about the Reapers following for some reason, then they would also have taken time to remove info from computer systems, and tried to hide info the the mission. So if this hiding did happen, then while some people may remember that people left, there may be no real info left for them to follow and in the havoc of post-war life, that lack would hinder or prevent any tries to contact Andromeda. Honestly, if you are so stuck on the Milky Way, then I suggest you just play ME 1-3 and call it a day, because the whole point of the Andromeda arc of gameplay was to get away from the choices of the Milky Way Mass Effect series and have a blank slate. I really hope they don't do anything with the choice and leave the Milky Way in the Milky Way and continue to develop the Andromeda Galaxy like the developed the Milky Way in ME1-3. So if Bioware shoehorns any of the choices into the game, or worse goes back to the Milky Way post-Reaper, then I will keep my $60 and not even bother to watch on YouTube...no skin off my back, either.

We have no clue who the benefactor is so for all we know they are in andromeda so they may not know. There's nothing to suggest refusal was what happened. There's nothing to suggest any of the endings. They've heard nothing and we don't know why. That leaves it open ended.

About the signal from Andromeda... Is it a general signal broadcast, or is it to a specific receiver or type/location of a receiver?? The Geth modified a Relay to scan the Andromeda galaxy, and I assume this technology was also used/modified in some way to attempt to communicate with Andromeda...so maybe the reapers destroyed the modifications cause they didn't want any mucking with their technology?? Maybe the specific receiver was destroyed?? Maybe the damage to the launch areas was so great or operatives for the Benefactor destroyed them to cover tracks, that nothing was left as far is info or receivers for Andromeda??? Maybe those who remembered about the Andromeda Initiative were killed in the war??? Honestly, most Except for SAM and Ryder simply believe that they left the Milky Way behind and have relegated that to the past since everyone they knew is now dead there(due to old age) Maybe the Krogan and Asari don't believe this, but they see it as something not all that important. Honestly, why does it matter so much, since in life and death situations, only things that can keep you alive really matter, and the Initiative has enough to deal with trying to survive a hostile area to worry about the lack of communications from people 600 years away....

@r_debene91guess you didnt pay attention to the part of the plot they became a last ditch effort to save the races from the reapers. It probably started as standard exploration but changed to survival. Changing the whole point of the mission and keeping it a secret, well, that's a secret mission... and look how much was done behind the scenes rather than up front, ton of classified stuff. Is it hard to believe all knowledge of the initiative was wiped from the banks?Oh, and there was that whole crucible project that spanned a bunch of races and required tons of resources, and it was top secret. But hey, lol right?

Do I as the player know what happened in the Milky Way? yes. Does my Ryder character know what happened? to some extent yes. Does the Benefactor know? Yes. Does the rest of the initiative know? no they do not. This is a plot point that need to be addressed. Not addressing them cheapens the experience because naturally the people of the initiative would want to know the current state of the Milky Way. Now, Will it completely ruin my experience with a hypothetical MEA:2? no but it will cheapen it.

Also its been a little over 600 years and the Milky Way would've found better/faster ways of traveling through space and or better communications.
Like I said there will always be that elephant in the room of "What is the current state of the Milky Way 600 years later." If we continue to get the "Oh we cant contact them" excuse then that pretty much confirms that refusal is the canon ending. It is what it is.
Either way we won't be getting this game for another 5 years optimistically speaking. Who knows what will happen from now until then.

No, there are many good explanations why a contact is difficult, and non would confirm a specific ending as cannon.
Wile any interfering storyline would do exactly that, and that is why I think that it would be a very bad idea.

Look who's doing the handwaving now lol. 600 years of a bunch of different alien races working together and developing their tech but they aren't able to contact or travel to anyone quickly in another galaxy. Initiative was a secret project? What? There were 4 Arks with thousands of colonists on board and resources that were needed to build those things. Secret project yeah right dude, give me a break lol

If they come out with another Andromeda game, which i hope they do, they will need to find out a way to properly address what is going on in the Milky Way currently. If they don't address it, it will be a constant shadow that looms over the game. This is just the way I feel about it and I'm sure a lot of others do as well.

You have your opinion and I have mine. IF this game even gets made the current state of the Milky Way needs to be addressed. If it's not then hey no big deal. I'll pocket my $60 and watch a play through on youtube. No skin of my back.

@r_debene91I guess you didnt get the point of my post that the secret part was the mission being changed. They all thought they were going for exploration, not survival of the races. But keep loling...

It doesnt need addressed because its out of the picture. Am i curious too? Yes. But its at best a minor plot point and not at all relevant to the continued development of andromeda. The new series is about the ryders and andromeda, the MW plays no role in this, but its apparent youre just too hung up on the MW to let it go. I mean, not being able to let go of a game lol worthy.
