I definitely think that the multiplayer is at times very challenging, but I don't think it's "Too Hard" at all. It just takes that time to build up to it. The enemies are designed well so that different tactics need to be applied to different enemies to succeed, but when you apply those tactics well you really do well. Ascendant sync kills are very hard to disrupt I totally agree, but if they were easy they wouldn't be a threat. Additionally, the Ascendant sync kill is by far the easiest sync kill to avoid. If you get caught in it, you were either in a dire spot surrounded by enemies, in which case what do you expect, or you didn't pay attention enough to notice the telegraphing and move, or you locked yourself into a long skill animation you should have known better than to use right next to an Ascendant.
In general it sounds like you are struggling more early in the games life than you were late in ME3's life, which is to be expected, given the nature of the progression system. It sounds like you haven't yet learnt the tactics needed to play against the various factions. That isn't the game's fault: If anything that's one of the multiplayer's defining features - It's hard, but its something that, with practice and some thought you can absolutely master and overcome.
Don't blame your current shortcomings on a badly balanced game, instead acknowledge that there is more yet for you to learn and when you do you'll be looking down on everyone from the top of the scoreboard on gold....Simple! Good Luck dude.
