Unable to download DLCs (new Mass Effect Owner)

Hi,

Just bought Mass Effect 3 and having a few issues.

1) Everytime I try to download a DLC using Origin I get the following message "An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again in a few moments. Error: 131079:6"

Firstly this is pretty much a useless error, it should give some information about what the unexpected error was. I have googled and so far the amount of information I have found is not any help.

I have already uninstalled firewall (no luck - and shouldn't have to anyway). Windows firewall isn't one. If it was a firewall issue anyway - how come Origin can connect perfectly okay to the EA store, and I can buy stuff on there?

This appears to be something else, but the problem is I can't find anything else to do. I have reinstalled Mass Effect 3 already to see if that was the problem - no.

BTW - I bought the DVD version of Mass Effect 3.

Any help would be great.

Thanks but sorry to say I have tried that - and am now running the beta with no luck.

Not sure how it would be the Internet Provider since everything else work with the provider.

Even using the Beta of Origin still get the same 131079:6 error.

Disabled Anti Virus and still not working.

Disabled Firewall and still not working.

Run as Administrator (I am admin but wanted to check) didn't help

    UAT turned off

When I try to download updates I get the same error message (131079:6)

    Nothing in Event Viewer.

I can log into Origin okay, can buy stuff on the market even. But just can't download anything at all!

    This is pretty darn disappointing.

To be honest I was a big fan of Bioware, and of Mass Effect series - this serious has put a disappointing feeling in my gut now, as I have wasted two days just trying to get the **bleep** thing to update and load DLCs ☹️

    Edit:

I have also done a Repair Install - it hs come up fine without a single problem. But then when it goes to download the Update it comes up with the same error as above. So this is certainly only a issue when it tries to download from Origin.

BTW: I use Steam, and a number of other download game managers and they all work perfectly fine. It is only Origin I am having problems with.

Another thing you can try is to re-install Origin. I had the same error (not with ME3 but with BF3) and it helped.  Here you can find instructions how to do that without having to re-install all your games.

    Hi goldendawn69,

Can you tell me if you are still experiencing this issue?

It looks like a connection problem to get the correct data. If you are using a wireless connection, it might be worth trying switching to a wired connection.

    Cheers
