unable to purchase bioware points FOR YEARS (NU2001)

The last time I was able to sucessfully purchase BW Points was Oct 2011! (must've been for ME2 DLC) Since then I've had error message after error message.  I've tried to use every payment card I own and paypal too. To no avail.

I called EA last week, was given a case number and informed I'd be contacted within a couple of days..... No joy as yet.

If Origin can't take my money, scrap the Bioware Points and let us have the DLC for free!

Sorry, but I'm at my wits end now. It may seem frivolous, but I'm in the middle of attempting a fully paid for, all missions, all stuff, perfect run through of the Mass Effect trilogy. Got all my ME1 DLC, got all my ME2.....  I'm playing through ME2 at the moment, fast approaching the end and I'm counting SIX ME3 DLC I still need to get. Come on! Help me out here!

Please excuse my rant.

Yours faithfully

I can fully relate how frustrating this must be. Have you tried on another PC or maybe a friend can lend you his credit card for you to try?

I've also found a UK-seller that has bioware points on sale here for  £ 13,66, you'll get the key via e-mail. I haven't bought from them, but friends have and they were satisfied with their service.

If it's too risky for you, Amazon Germany also ships to the UK for 3,75 € extra charge, plus 14,99 € for the bioware points (current price, I've also seen it go as low as 13,99 €) resulting in 17,74 € total, so a bit over £15, don't know how expensive this is compared to buying it via Origin. You could save on shipping charges if you bought 2 boxes, as the shipping costs are calculated on a weight-basis and as long as it doesn't exceed 1kg, you're still looking at 3,75 € shipping. You can login with the same credentials you use for amazon.co.uk and use the saved shipping information and payment options.

Other than that, I'm afraid I'm out of ideas.

Good luck with the Shadow Broker - give him hell! 🙂

  • Have you tried buying the points through Origin instead of BioWare Social Network? In some countries (like Germany) you can buy physical BioWare points cards or boxes that have a code you can redeem in Origin or BSN for a certain amount of BioWare points, maybe those are available in your country as well.  In Germany you can buy these from amazon.de. If all else fails you may be able to let them ship those to you, although this will be rather expensive.

  • I've tried buying through Origin AND the Origin website, aswell as the Bioware Social Network. No joy, no points. Countless attempts.

I live in Scotland, so not sure if German amazon is an option.

To be honest I'd rather EA helped me out and fixed the problem, so I could just use their store like normal! Thanks though!

Suicide mission complete, taking on the shadow broker and rescuing Dr Kenson up next......

  • I've tried several different PC's and Laptops and my girlfriend was kind enough to let me try her laptop and credit card once! No luck, same problem.

Thanks for the help, I think I'll try that UK seller.  Worth a shot.  Money isn't a issue with me, it's just EA won't take it! >☹️

And their lack of intrest has really soured my opinion of Origin.

Right, I'm off to try and spend some money.  Many thanks again for the help!

Shadow Broker won't know what hit him! 😉
