Unable to transfer save files from trial to CD version [Ps4]

Hello to all,

I hope I can get assistance with an issue.. I read all over the internet that save files transfer seamlessly for everbody, but for me, on the ps4, the save data does NOT transfer from the trial version to a physical CD full game - when I put the CD in, the game just installs itself again and there are two instances of the game and two save folders with the same name. I tried backing up the save games on a USB stick, deleting the trial version, then deleting the remaining save data folder, then putting the save games back, hoping that the full game will recognize them, but it just creates a new save again and doesn't let me access my save files Frown

I really don't want to start from scratch, I would appreciate if anybody can help me solve this problem..
  • Hi @swk0t0rfan

    Sorry to hear about your issue with transferring the save files.

    Technically, trial versions are just time-limited full games, so your saves should work with the full version of Mass Effect Andromeda.

    However, they are all locally saved on your PS4 and/or in the PlayStation Online Storage (Cloud). Sometimes deleting saves from your local device triggers upload from the Online Storage, so be sure that you've deleted saves stored in the Cloud and disabled Cloud save before copying the progress from your USB stick to PS4.

    There might be some synchronization issue on your device or perhaps your trial save files are corrupted. Unfortunately, that can sometimes happen (I am speaking from my own experience as a PS4 owner) and then you might be forced to start game from a scratch ☹️

    Hey ,

    Thanks for the reply!

    I actually started from scratch. I was very intrigued and couldn't wait any longer 🙂 I'm sure there is a way to transfer the save files, it appears I was in a minority, experiencing this issue, but I just replayed my way out of it :D And I am really loving the game!

    Thanks for the reply once more!

    @swk0t0rfan

    I'm sorry that I couldn't help you with transferring the saves, but I am glad that you've been enjoying the game anyway! :eahigh_file:

    I've really had fun while travelling around the Andromeda Galaxy (it only gets better, trust me), so good luck with your sci-fi adventures! ⭐
