where do i find the configuration utility?

i am trying to continue my gameplay from me1 into me2, but it says i need to run the configuration utility.  i don't know where to find it.  help, please!

    Hi I just got same message after playing another playthrough of ME1. It's odd also because I was able to do it with some other ME1 playthroughs. So if anyone can tell me where configuration I would appreciate it.
