If you remember, the original scans of the Andromeda galaxy were obtained from the geth. they rotated a mass relay and pointed at Andromeda to use as a telescope of sorts. Shepards conversation with legion on the Normandy-- legion tells him that the geth knew the reapers were returning. The geth could have packed up and left town also. As for the reapers, perhaps they sent a few in hot pursuit if the arks. as long as they were out of the milkyway galaxy before the end of me3 they would not have been affected by the energy wave as they were out of the milkyway by then. What about the shadow broker? pre liara of course. He would have had the resources to fund this adventure. Personally, I would be more interested in the Jardaan and the get.
