Why can't Ryder be actually mean?
Okay, I was really glad when they said they'll get rid of the paragon-renegade system. It was too extreme, paragon easily got too high-and-mighty, and renegade sometimes turned into genocidal maniac....

They simply replaced one limitation with another. You no loner get to choose what your Ryder says, only how they say it. Ryder's dialog choices seems to be different shades of Paragon. For me, it's the most limiting of the series as far as RPG goes.
