Why does the protagonist have to be human in ME5

I don't want to get into the story, because I have been a fan since day 1, and I know the story will be great. I just would like to see one where the protagonist doesn't have to be human. There are s...

I think its because, well, we're human so the character can be more relatable, but I agree; it would be cool to play as another race, or even just let you play as a squad mate.
