2 player split screen for NFS Rivals

Are there any plans to introduce split screen? I couldn't care less about playing some random elsewhere on the planet - I do care about being able to play the game with my son in the same room!

Need for Speed Rivals does not have a Split Screen functionality.

That wasn't his question though, was it ? Been watching too many Kellyane Conway interviews, have we ?
What kind of a developer doesn't include a split screen in a racing game? Actually I'm pretty sure the decision was EA's. Don't know how this company is so successful, when it's run by incompetent dimwits who have no idea what they're doing.
