I had the same problem here and a few other races. I beat this score with a maxed out Nissan GTR, and even then it was super tough. I couldnt even get within 3 seconds of this time with a 299 Nissan 350Z! A 171 Civic? There is NO way it can make that time in this track. There is no way to do a shortcut and a large portion of it is high-speed highway driving.
I think it may be a glitch, or there are some hackers in the game. I hope its simply a glitch, matching the person's best time with the wrong car.

Yes you're right, sadly on PC version is even worse...
EVERY SINGLE RACE IS TRASHED BY HACKER !!! People finishing races in less than a minute or drift scores going over 3Mio...This NFS is already dead for me, played over 60 hours and now I have nothing else to do since I can't play to get the highest score / fastest run due to hackers using cheat engine to modify their score...
Its a shame for a big AAA title to being "hacked" by a poor software like Cheat Engine... Scores should be server sided, someone has no internet while making a new best score? Not our problem, at least the competitive side won't be trashed !!!PLEASE EA/GHOST DO SOMETHING AGAINST THIS !!!
Not to mention that youtube is full of some kind of "how to hack in NFS Payback"

Sorry to go off topic but was wondering how you guys get the autolog for random players/times. Blue autolog times, mine only show my friends in red.
i get a daily challenge to beat 3 autolog recommends times but only my friends times are shown and even when i beat them it doesn't count as a recommendation.
I would like to agree with you that, 2m45.43s MIGHT(Not) be legitimate for a 171 Civic,
I did this map with a 399 P1, for 2m27.87s, which put my next challenge at 2m26.67s. Yes, go ahead and call me suck. That is a less than 20 seconds lead with 4 laps, meaning my 399 P1 is faster than the civic for 5 seconds each map, doesn't sound anywhere near legit.
However, since I by chance had a nearly stock Civic in my garage, I took it out and tried it. With performance level of 176, the fastest I have achieved was 2m58.xx seconds., which I did have some flaws, adding them up may give me another 3, 4 seconds faster time, yet, it is still around 8 seconds slower than the 2m45.43s speedlist record, makes it 2-3 seconds slower each lap. That doesn't sound too bad I assume, since I still have a lot of details along the run to be perfected.
If it is not by using glitch/cheat, that is one hell of a record to be done, makes me wonder since when does everybody become so competitive.
If it is done by glitch that make you use a upgraded car without telling the correct performance index, I would like to assume the car would have the PI of at least 230.
