Black Screen and Freezing when exiting game !

Some trial and error troubleshooting may be required here.

• Try disconnecting the unused display before you start the game
• Take a look a the display priority in Windows (Display 1, Display 2 etc.) and check if swapping the displays there has an effect.

@EA_BarryThanks for the suggestion, i'm afraid it didn't work. I tried (from a total fresh reboot) totally disabling my tv (unplugged from graphics card) and running the game from the one monitor, same issue when exiting, black screen. And i closed absolutley every program and service i could.

DOes seem to be related to on the games exit, it going back to the Origin app, when shutting down, i am sometimes getting a ''breakpoint reached' error for the Origin app, any more suggestions ? thanks

I do miss the days when games didn't need to load through multiple apps/platforms (in this case steam and origin).

I had the same problem with a standard monitor when exiting the game. Not only did the game freeze up, but it managed to black out the entire screen other than the tool bar when I pressed the Windows key, but trying to start any other app just went back to black screen.

That and the lack of support for generic controllers on the PC version is the reason I had the game removed from my library and got a refund, as it's unlikely EA is ever going to fix these bugs or issues. 

The last need for speed game I bought was Shift 2 Unleashed, and with the game and controller issues, I probably won't buy any other Need For Speed games. I don't understand why the older PC need for speed games can support just about any controller, including joysticks, wheels and pedals, gamepads, ... , using the generic Windows HID (human interface device) | DirectX, but newer games have lost this ability.
