is anyone else having trouble with these races? i seem to have lost just as many as ive won and more often than not if you "just" win a race you gain less points than you lose if you "just" lose a race (i gained 14 points for a "just" win but lost 33 points for a "just" loss), the opponents seem to taking a far better racing line and the jumps are more like another obsticle to be avoided as you get thrown off at crazy angle and thrown into the wall if you dont hit it straight on

what i'd like to know is how can a 989 ccx without making any mistakes lose to a viper

OK, I'm really getting over BRR, probably 'cos I don't get it! I'm now 631 races in and it's just not making any sense to me. How does the game decide who I race against? (SP? PR? #Wins? #Losses? Someone's mood at the time?) How does the game calculate how many SP I win or lose? (E.g. (me) 4132 vs (ghost) 4109 LOST = -19SP..... (me) 4156 vs (ghost) 4179 LOST = -24SP) What skills are we to master to actually progress? (forget racing well, just get really good at avoiding ramps, obstacles, electronic stuns, traffic & roadblocks) What impact does PR have on racing performance? (We aren't shown what PR our opponent's car is on) What impact does SP level have on racing performance? (We'd all love to know the answer to this question) How does the game ensure all players are being 'tested' against the same criteria? (i.e consistency, fairness... the kinda things important in a competition) What's the benefit (reward) for reaching the various levels up to Icon? (uuuh, why exactly are we doing this again?) These and many more questions cannot be answered with any reasonable degree of certainty. We're left scratching our heads and debating over players' opinions. Why? What's the point of BRR then? Why are the rules of engagement not made clear up front by EA? Why all the mystery and deafening silence from the people who could actually answer these questions? Five days ago, I managed to reach 4,245 SP... and within two days I lost my Level III rank (to level II) and dropped right down to 3,725 SP... I estimate that I lost 18 of 20 races, mostly due to bizarre acts of car madness, like shaving a car on the left side of the road, and mysteriously 'spawning' on the other side of the road facing the stars. Yes, I make mistakes in races or could have raced better, but no more than previously (in fact I know I've reduced mistakes and improved technique), yet suddenly I'm being smoked by cars with 200SP less than me. What changed? I didn't have a stroke, or grow tentacles for thumbs, and I didn't change my gaming technique, but the game suddenly had it 'in for me'... it's like someone tied a tractor to my bumper and removed the steering wheel! Bottom line... BRR doesn't make any sense to me. If I'm the only one who feels this way , then I should probably have my MENSA status revoked and book myself in for a brain scan.

I may have lost a few races, but I won most of my races. In fact, the races in Blackridge Rivals are so intense that my heart beats rapidly whenever I do a race there and hoping the game doesn't mess me up. (With cop roadblocks and traffic) I really like Blackridge Rivals. It brought me so much fun that I hadn't had with the game after so many months. I really want Multiplayer racing in No Limits though. This isn't Multiplayer racing, but it's the closest we got so far. The amount of points you gain or lose depends on your opponents SP (Speed Points). The higher the SP, the more SP you win (less SP you lose). The lower the SP, the less SP you win (more SP you lose). It all depends whether the game gives you a higher SP opponent or lower SP opponent. Oh, and I wouldn't mind if opponents are ghosts in Blackridge Rivals since I'm not really racing them live. However, I do want car contact in actual Multiplayer racing in No Limits (if it ever happens) to add more of a challenge to pass opponents cleanly or to send opponents flying if they're being trolls. To vipucho, do you really ram real people in Multiplayer races? If so, then prepare to go to heaven if you ever do race me. By the way, you guys should check out the Top 200 leaderboard in Blackridge Rivals. You'll see a familiar name in there. 👿

i can understand the "ghost" races, as those races are in escence a time trial type race and the "ghost" image is to show what/how your opponent raced, ive got issues with the fact that i dont seem to progressing

Well, I take back what I said about Blackridge Rivals. It totally sucks. I have two reasons why it sucks: 1. Match-making is broken. - People get match-maked with an opponent with a much lower SP than them, meaning they gain so little SP if they win and they lose so much SP if they lose. Absolutely ridiculous. (The least amount of points I won was 3 points and the biggest amount of points I lost was 55 points.) 2. The game penalizes people if the game crashes on them. How Blackridge Rivals could be better: 1. People get match-maked with opponents that have almost as much SP as them to make things even. 2. The game should allow people to choose who they want to race with. For example, the game picks a set of opponents at random and people can have the option to choose who they want to race with. 3. The game distinguishes between a game crash and a retire for incomplete races. 4. Different Blackridge Rivals classes - Street class, Classic Sports class, Muscle class, Sports class, Super car class, and Hyper car class. People can mostly drive what they want in each class instead of being restricted to drive only the fastest cars in the game. (But people may still need to drive the fastest cars in each class though) I said earlier that I would like Multiplayer races in No Limits. Now, I take that back too. After playing Blackridge Rivals races a lot, I would say Multiplayer races in No Limits would just be a mess. Everyone would just be driving the fastest cars (for each class) to win the race, meaning people can't drive their favourite cars and win the race. The races are so short that people driving their favourite cars can hardly catch up to someone in the fastest car if they made a mistake. It would probably be too late to overtake them. The game is better off being as a online Single Player game in my opinion. Yesterday, I raced against a cheater with a Koenigsegg CCX with infinite nitrous.

Before I pressed the throttle, I saw there were ramps set on the race course. I, then, thought I had a chance of winning because of those ramps.

I pressed the throttle. Got Perfect Launch.

Surprisingly, the cheater didn't get Perfect Launch. :eahigh_file:

I took those jumps when necessary, kept my speed high, and dominated the cheater by over 1 second.

I just don't get people that want to cheat in an online game. Don't they understand their efforts are wasted whenever their accounts get banned...? 😞

Waste of time, waste of effort.

Then it may have to do with my high SP score that the game is giving me an AI ghost opponent after winning 3 Rivals races against real player ghost opponents.

To be sure though, can someone post here saying whether or not they got an AI ghost opponent after winning 3 Rivals races against real player ghost opponents?

1. I'm #1 on the Top 200 leaderboard in Blackridge Rivals (as usual)

2. I reached Icon rank I before anyone else

3. I reached Icon rank II before anyone else

4. I reached Icon rank III before anyone else

Mission accomplished!!! 🥳

@EA_Barry I checked the amount of Blackridge Rivals races it took me to be #1 and reach Icon rank III.

In total, it took me 560 Blackridge Rivals races. :eahigh_file:

@7ru3blu3 @TheRealJony I've had one AI Opponent after winning a few races in a row but not until was level III...which happened recently. I had the AI player with the samurai lookin' pic.

Then I guess it's just only for me.

The game always gives me an AI ghost opponent to race after winning 3 Blackridge Rivals races against real player ghost opponents. I guess it makes sense since I'm unable to gain any more SP from winning against real player ghost opponents.

@iAmDiBBz The rewards will be given when the preseason concludes, just like how rewards are given whenever a Tournament ends.

It'll most likely end when the next update comes, which will probably be after the upcoming Blackridge Spirit special event.

I can't say I'm enjoying Rivals very much.

It's more of an obstacle course than a race. Ramps are a real pain in the b*tt as I'm slammed into a walls, or thrown off my racing line, or set up to be sparked by an EMP, or simply splatted into a bridge and wrecked. It's a Derby of destruction, not a race!

My CCX is on PR 1020 and I can't upgrade any further until I get all 16 Scanners for each part, yet more often than not, I'm racing opponents who seem to have way more power and speed who whiz past me like I'm looking for parking, no matter how good my start is.

I can't tell the difference between an AI racer, or fellow NFS racer, or a cheater... all I know is this is getting quite frustrating.... and this is going to be the 'future' of NFS-NL when Tournies are trashed?

It seems I'm generating some fame over at NFS No Limits reddit. 😃

People over there are questioning how me and the second ranked player in the Top 200 leaderboard have such a big gap of SP from the third ranked player and below.

My Ferrari LaFerrari isn't maxed out yet as you can see below and I have no problems winning Blackridge Rivals races.

Oh, and I'm still gaining SP (but very slowly).

I did race >>jin1995<< (jin1995) and TudorSicaru (TudorSicaru) with their Koenigsegg CCXs ghosts before when I got match-maked with them. They were fairly easy to beat. 😉

Heck, I even raced against the fourth ranked player in the Top 200 leaderboard and the race was a breeze.

@WildeKnight07 If you took a jump off a ramp that caused you to collide onto a wall, to get set up by an ESF, or to collide onto a bridge, then you would know the next time you race on the same track that you should avoid taking those ramps.

I always avoid taking ramps that could possibly cause me the race at all costs.

That may be because your opponents are losing much less speed during cornering than you are.

AI ghost opponents = opponents that are computer-controlled and go very easy on you

The AI ghost opponents I encountered in Blackridge Rivals are Nulhax, Beans, and Shwa.

Real player ghost opponents = opponents who are human and go very hard on you

Cheater = opponents who are human and use third-party programs to win
