Also even if they did well in next gen, they wont survive throughout next gen as EA's typical BUY RUSH KILL cycle will return again and again
- 6 years ago@BVBgamer88 TBH the only reason this dying series isn't totally killed off is the continous studios working on it.We've got EA Canada as the original, which got replaced by EA seattle/Black Box and left to do FIFA.Black Box itself was killed after 4 continous failures(Carbon PS Undercover TR)Real Criterion did 2 and a half games(HP2010 MW2012 Rivals as new HP2) then got split into small group making supporting modes in SWBF and BF.While the rest either left with Alex/Fiona or smashed into Ghost which did the stupid ricer reboot and keep failing ever since rushed Rivals. Then there's Eden(TDU devs) with a name-only NFS V-Rally.The last is Slightly Mad's Shift series which was rushed and left EA to Namco with the basically same game under Project Cars name.Spearhead made Edge and NFSOL here in China. But sadly that game flopped hell and Edge itself was shut down previously.
So it's clear that NFS brand is a curse.Every dev worked/working on this series either killed off like Blackbox or left EA like Slight Mad or moved to other project like EA Canada.Stupid series like this should be killed off to prevent more talented devs being rushed to pieces by greedy EA.- 6 years agoElectronic Arts is the reason why the series got * up, in my opinion its best to sell the name to an other company, there are more talented devs out there.
- 6 years ago@selticus1978 I doubt it will happen.NFS is one of the biggest series under EA's control,so they wont let go of a chance to keep profit from long-term players worldwide.Only possibility is NFS been killed off after continous failures without a replacement team.

About Cannon Ball NFS games.
I'm not a fan of them, but I don't see why they can't make one. They've tried recreating the Underground experience, twice if you count Heat, and failed, they've tried a Casino NFS, literally, and failed; so why not try another Cannon Ball NFS game.
Not saying I'd buy it, but it's worth a try.
- 6 years ago@ZeroMcDol Because EA is obsessed with 16 Million sales success of MW05 and 12 Million sales success of UG1.HP2010 which was the most recent polished Cannonball NFS only sold 5-6 Millon, about 1/3 of MW05.However the success of MW05/UG are based on the fever of FF ricer/chav films. The time of chav is gone now.Hence why PS4 era NFS reboot and Heat failed as hell.
Cannonball style proved to be successful across generations. Also used as the style of first for every generation ever since HP1 put out in 1998.It's reasonable to bring it back for next gen(what fake useless Criterion is working on/looking for devs to work on now)- 6 years ago
Personally, and this is just my opinion. Heat failed due to bad design mechanics. Traffic = Bad design mechanics, Cops = Bad design mechanics, AI Racers above easy = Bad design mechanics, and now for me, Camera swaying left and right = Bad design mechanics; Plus an incomplete story, and nothing to do after reaching the Rep cap, besides farming money for cars that get blitzed by a single car.
These things and others that have been mentioned in the forums are game breaking, and IMO, what destroyed Heat from the get go.
Edit: If I had known that all of this was going on, I never would've bought Heat. Unfortunately tho, these are things that were not mentioned in the YouTube Reviews.
