Can you restart the career?

I want to go 100% achieves, and I am close, but I cant unlock Level 4 racer achievement (cause it was bugged for me). So my idea is to do them all and then restart career and try to trigger it on the second try.

So how to restart it? In old NFS HP 2010 you just deleted the files from the CriterionGames folder. And that is not working in this version.

  • @RainBgd  Hey, there's a bit of a workaround that might work for this.

When you do want to restart you can turn your Steam/Origin offline, delete the save file (or move it to a backup location so you can use it in future) at C:\Users\*yourusername*\Documents\Criterion Games\Need for Speed(TM) Hot Pursuit Remastered\Save\Default then start the game in offline mode.

The game should then start a fresh save file from scratch.

You can then go back online and restart, and from my tests the newer save will remain. From here you can progress again to get the achievement that was missed.

Just to confirm that this is successful with few notes(I have the game on Steam btw)

    1) Make sure you are signed out both on Steam and Origin (if you have the game on Steam, you have to sign in to Origin manually and go offline there also)

    2) Do the steps that David said, remove your save file and you can restart the career (you can go online when you see that that you are level 1 again)

    3) Important Note: my broken Achievement unlocked, so @EA_David, you can maybe tell people in the future that this method is working. It can be a pain if you're missing level 16 (for example), but in my case, it was level 4 and when I reached level 4 again it popped out after less than a minute.

    4) You can also revert the old save repeating the process from above.

All in all, my broken achievement unlocked using this method and  career restart is possible in general.

    Thank you once again.

Thanks for the confirmation on this.

As you note it's not really feasible for everyone, but it may help some.

@EA_David You know the topic in Answer HQ that I have said about the under the map glitch and another glitch that occurred to me, well I tried it online (with the games online features in Career mode) I tried one of the Racer events and where the under the map glitch (on Fairview Road) the glitch was gone and I was able to drive on that road perfectly (I haven't tried the road for a cop event yet) and because the glitch is now gone, I am in the Exotic Series and I think it's because of I did was play the game offline (without its online features) for about 2 or 3 days (and the only way that you can play the game offline without its online features is if you are on PS4 you have to delete the game, try to reinstall it and copy your disc or from where you bought the game on PlayStation Store and I don't know if it works on I don't think it works when you buy it from PlayStation Store, on Xbox One, Steam or PC and when it says "Copy disc is complete you can start the application, when you have clicked on it it says that there is still the latest update to the game that needs to be installed, but it gives you the option to play it without updating and just access its offline features) and then when the latest update to the game has been installed in 2 or 3 days (don't put your PS4 on rest mode just turn it off completely) you can access its online features and then into the event that was glitched for you then the glitch should be gone permanently so you can just play the game normally! This method is not a trick, it actually works so just use this method and play the game, enjoy!

  • I'm trying to do this, but every time it just reinstalls the save file.  How do I turn off cloud saves?
