Cd Key "Invalid"

Question

So I download NFS: Hot Pusuit from Steam and recieve a key code. I launch the game without a problem. It asks me to sign into my account; I complete this. Then it asks (as I was expecting) for the key code. I copy it directly from the Steam message and proceeded. Then the game gave me an error and said it was and invalid code. I know that it has not been used yet and that it is valid. I sent a support ticket to Steam and they directed me here so I hope you guys can help. I also waited 45 minutes to chat with a live representative and that was a waste because no body responded.&nbsp;

I am really dissapointed with EA's support. Nobody has responded and I can't even live chat with anyone.

I am unable to start Need For Speed Shift, it says there is an connection error to EA.
