Daily challenges NFS Payback

Please explain to me how exactly the NFS Payback Daily Challenges work? From what I understand completing a challenge you get three points and every eight points there is a delivery. One day is not enough to get to the end, if the next day I don't play I lose the points I earn? And at what time do the challenges change?
