It's unheard of because it's a stupid thing to do with production model, not because it's some grand achievement.
To the US? Good luck, they have some of the most absurd motor vehicle laws in the world. Only in the US is a hunk of overpriced scrap metal like the Challenger Demon deemed perfectly safe to drive when it can't even keep all 4 wheels on the ground, yet a legendary AWD car like the R34 GT-R is deemed "unsafe" to drive because it has nearly perfect power-to-weight ratio and the steering wheel is on the wrong side.
Do you even know what you are talking about? The car is designed to do what it does. Do tell us how its not some grand achievement. The Challenger Demon doesnt pop wheelies like the cars in the game. Also, if you would educate yourself, its not that the Skylines are deemed unsafe, its that those cars do not fall under US DOT safety standards and US Emissions standards. Has nothing to do with it being unsafe. Thats where the 25 year rule falls in. Before you dog the country, learn about it first. If the R34 was deemed unsafe to drive in the US, why is the Midnight Purple V Spec II available for legal importing into the US? Because it being deemed "unsafe" has nothing to do with it. It falls under the Show and Display rule meaning you can drive it on the street but only for 2500 miles a year. Again, educate yourself.
- Thank you man! Its pretty clear that he knows nothing about US importing laws and the reason behind them. Our USPS Trucks have the steering wheel on the right hand side so I'm not sure where he got that whole thing from. As an American, I take offense to people who want to dog our country, especially when they know nothing about us.
It was pretty clear he didn't know what he was talking about. Also bashing the country was uncalled for. Bashing some of our stupid laws would be no big deal and not be taken as a personal attack though. The achievement on the Challenger Demon is that it was the 1st legal drag car built in America. So it achieves it's purpose and set world records while doing it.
